Anacortes Lutheran Preschool

Our preschool is a non-profit educational ministry of Anacortes Lutheran Church. The school, located in the education wing, offers classes for three and four year old children Monday through Friday from September through May.

Teachers: One teacher (Kelly Wheeler) and an aide (Kathy Johnson/Johanna Moore) encourage the children’s development. Student/Teacher ratio is 7:1.

Leadership: The school is under the direction of the Board of Ministry and the Preschool Committee.

Field Trips and Special Programs: Field trips are planned at least monthly and include such places as pumpkin fields, the post office, the public library and Papa Murphy’s Pizza. Special Programs have included visits from police officers, animal control officers, and firemen. Special events include a Christmas program, Mother’s Tea for Mother’s Day, Donuts for Dads for Father’s Day, a parents’ potluck, and end of year picnic.

Chapel: Chapel is held once a week and is led by the Pastor or the Parish Assistant.

Mission Statement: The school has been in existence for over twenty years. We offer this program in an effort to assist parents in the development of their children, academically and spiritually. We believe that the school can help enlarge a child’s perception of God, other people, and our physical world.
