Welcome to worship at Anacortes Lutheran Church!
Since we are all homebound, we're gathering virtually. In Matthew's Gospel we are told that "where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matt 18:20 NIV) That is true whether we're together in person or electronically.
Our Transition Pastor, Rev. Walt Rice, began his ministry among us on March 15. Unfortunately we could't welcome him in person, so we are meeting him in this week's video worship. As a bonus, he is sharing the message he would have preached had we been able to be together. We are truly blessed to have Pastor Walt to accompany us through the time of transition for our congregation.
On this Fourth Sunday in Lent we continue our journey to the cross. In Lent we acknowledge both the often painful reality of our lives which Jesus also experienced, and at the same time we rejoice in the reality that the resurrection has already happened! Knowing that nothing can ever separate us from God's love made visible in Christ Jesus, we join together to give thanks and praise to God.
